Once again, in spite of the police and financial police cordon and the complicit silence of the Port Authority, the workers of the Port of Genoa unmasked the Bahri ship’s cargo of death.
These are already armed M1 Abrams tanks, produced in the USA and bound for who knows what dirty war on board, as usual, the Bahri death ships of Saudi Arabia. On the deck of the same ship containers full of ammunition and explosives travel in plain sight.
All of this without any control by the competent authorities (Prefecture, Port Authority, Harbour Master’s Office) against these ships, which have been denounced for the last 3 years by the workers and the pacifist and anti-militarist movements. These requests were repeated in the demonstration of April 2nd and delivered to the President of the port Signorini, who did not give an answer to the civil society nor to the Bishops of Genoa and Savona, who were the main interpreters.
The only controls in the port are directed against the workers who are prevented from verifying the presence and destination of weapons that they do not want to contribute to circulate in the world, aware of the suffering and destruction that they cause to peoples already exploited by the same geopolitical powers that produce those same weapons and on which they profit. Nonetheless, thanks to the courage of some workers we have these images that we ask everyone to disseminate, nailing the political and economic interests that are at the origin of them to their moral and material responsibilities.
WE DEMAND TO WORK FOR PEACE, NOT CRIMINAL WAR. NO MORE WEAPONS IN THE PORT OF GENOA AND IN ALL PORTS. LET’S TURN ON THE BEACONS OF PEACE
The watchwords of the strike of April 22 and the national demonstration that sees workers and students united assume even more importance!
